Meet Rentsafe

Rentsafe was established to solve the problem that has been in existence for a while in the rental market: tenant and landlord relations. Over the years we developed a passion to empower tenants and landlords to go into lease agreements knowing that both parties’ interests are being equally upheld. Accountability and transparency are the pillars of the service RentSafe offers and ultimately, create a better living for tenants and landlords. 

THE TEAM

Tebogo Tloubatla is the Founder, CEO, and team member of Rentsafe South Africa. The team is made up of 4 additional members who play a huge role in the success of the business - Salewa Oyabola, the Chief Financial Officer (CFO); Senamiso Ndwandwe, the Chief Technology Officer (CTO), Ben Manuel the Chief Operating Officer (COO) and Stho Ndwandwe is the Head of Systems Engineering

THE OPPORTUNITY 

Tenants and landlords find themselves falling victim to the challenges associated with the residential rental market. This includes not receiving the security deposit back on time after a lease has come to an end, late rental payments, hidden broker fees, and the maintenance of the leased property not being completed on time or properly. Rentsafe is a platform that enables tenants and landlords to prevent these issues through our end-to-end service. Rentsafe is solving a problem and creating a holistic ecosystem for the rental market where transparency is key. The landlords and tenants will, therefore, have peace of mind going into a lease agreement.

LEARNINGS

The Rentsafe team have surrounded themselves and are working with intelligent individuals who are passionate and excited about the change that Rentsafe can make.

The property sector comes with its challenges and staying ahead of your game and acknowledging feedback from your clients is what allows the team to constantly grow and improve their offered services.

WHAT’S NEXT FOR RENTSAFE?

Customer empathy and intimacy are important aspects we keep in mind at Rentsafe. We are still in the process of finalizing the development of our mobile app. The team is currently making use of manual servicing for our clients but once the app is launched it will be more efficient and convenient for landlords and tenants to make use of our services. Rentsafe made the emphasis on listening to what their client’s needs are and the challenges they face and has brought up key insights that the team wasn’t aware would enhance the Rentsafe service/product.
