MEET THE FOUNDER
Yossi Ziskin is the CEO and co-founder of Alchetec. Yossi is an Electrical and Information Engineer by profession and an AI enthusiast at heart. Having always been passionate about investing, Yossi found himself being constantly disappointed with the poor returns offered by most asset managers. Yossi founded Alchetec with the aim of addressing this common frustration.
THE PROBLEM BEING SOLVED
Over decades, fund managers have had an information advantage. They invested heavily both in resources and time aggregating fundamental or pricing data, analysing and processing it. Based on this information, they would then make forecasts on future prices and market trends. However, accessibility to the internet has changed this reality. Data services and analytical tools are now available to almost any investor willing to spend some time finding them. As such, it is becoming extremely difficult and expensive for conventional valuation and investment philosophies to keep up.
This knock-on effect results in the majority of active fund managers failing to deliver market-beating returns. This reality becomes even worse when looking at the performance of local managers managing global equity funds.
Ultimately, the common investor is not receiving significant value to justify the fees they pay. Worse, the stakes are high with these investments which often affect one's life savings or future retirement plans.

Alchetec’s core offerings navigate the financial markets and so, as one can imagine, 2020 was an interesting year which the team did not anticipate! Yossi has always believed that within uncertainty lies opportunity, and as such, he embraced all the turmoil that came with 2020 with an opportunistic mindset.
Prospective clients admire Alchetec’s vision and awe at their stellar track record, however, concerns often arise around how their strategies would perform during a market crash. COVID-19 brought on exactly that challenge. The strategies encountered volatile periods and big drawdowns earlier in 2020. However, each strategy’s recovery has been spectacular, beating their benchmarks significantly by year-end. The team emerged having learned valuable lessons about their weaknesses and how to address them and build beyond them in the future.
