Season 6: Our largest and most impactful season of incubation yet.
On Friday 21 August 2020, FSAT labs hosted its end of season showcase day on Zoom. After meeting only once in person, our programme moved completely digital and online due to the Covid-19 lockdown restrictions.
During the showcase day we celebrated all the progress made by our season 6 startups and ended with each founder doing their pitch of the progress made. Our Season 6 has been our biggest and most impactful season yet.
It is our passion to help early stage startups move from concept to first customer and to equip them for scale. This season we had the privilege to work with some of the best founders in South Africa, they are solving important and growing problems and have made tremendous progress in a very short amount of time under challenging circumstances. We received 83 applications, interviewed 27 startups and selected 10 startup to partake in the incubation programme. After 6 months of coaching/mentoring (358 hours of coaching) and training (6 workshops featuring an array of topics), our startups have made massive progress towards achieving product market fit and preparing to scale.

Our program is a free to attend programme sponsored by Seda, Methys and the French Embassy. In spite of the lockdown limitations imposed due to Covid-19, our startups made exceptional progress. In total they have served more than 201 customers, generated R2 190 600 in revenue and created 19 employment opportunities, all in under 6 months!
